Putting on the Ritz!

Michael and I had a very RELAXING mini-vacation in July to the Dallas Ritz Carlton! I know it sounds funny to "vacation" in Downtown Dallas, but we did it a couple of summers ago and LOVED it...so we went for a couple of nights again!

We went to the spa (yes, Michael goes to the spa when we are on vacation. Vacation = staying somewhere other than your own home in Lubbock!), watched movies, ordered room service, slept late, relaxed at the pool and had a great diner at Morton's Steakhouse, which was right across from the hotel!

When Michael was making the hotel reservations, the staff member asked if we were celebrating anything. Michael said, "yes, we are...our belated anniversary!" Well, I guess you could call it that??? We didn't do anything for our anniversary BACK in APRIL! Good thinking though, Michael!

We had not been in our room for 30 minutes on Friday when someone was at the door..."Happy Belated Anniversary from the Ritz...hope you enjoy this bottle of champagne and chocolate strawberries!" Hmmm...this "anniversary" stay was starting off right! ha!

My favorite part of staying at a nice hotel...room service, BREAKFAST!! Love it!

The hotel had made our dinner reservations at Morton's for Saturday night. When we arrived, we were greeted with "Welcome Mr and Mrs Harlien, Happy Belated Anniversary!" We had a personalized menu and they took our picture and gave it to us at the end of our yummy meal!

We had a wonderful, RELAXING time! I guess the moral to this post...it can always be your BELATED Anniversary, if you are not celebrating on the exact date!! (Remember that the next time you stay at a nice hotel!)
